Director, Digital Content and Education

Position Summary
Reporting to the SVP, Education and Content, the Director’s main responsibility is to assist with elevating the profile and visibility of the AEF and its programs through digital, social, and email newsletters for all AEF activities including University Membership, Conference on Campus, Honors Night, and other activities. The Director maintains and enhances our WordPress site; creates and designs bespoke social images and captions to promote our programs on social media; manages the logistics and tech for virtual events; identifies speakers for campus events; and builds solid working relationships with academia, industry partners, and the AEF team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the website by collaborating and strategizing with various internal stakeholders
  • Create custom images and captions for social media, manage posts and curate content across all AEF social media accounts with an eye towards increasing engagement and awareness
  • Partner with SVP to lead digital activities including social media strategy and execution with a focus on LinkedIn and Instagram, providing weekly analytics reports across social platforms
  • Maintain the SurveyMonkey platform, manage survey data and reporting, and translate key insights into compelling social quotes and content assets
  • Write and design email newsletters to various AEF constituencies
  • Assist with the management of the Zoom account for AEF virtual events
  • Assist with identifying potential conference speakers and logistics
  • Collaborate closely with internal team members on all aspects of distribution, content, and strategies
  • Provide communications support to our stakeholders to help each AEF program achieve its engagement objectives
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their work and develop written website content that clearly and effectively communicates these efforts to stakeholders
  • Assist with duties connected to the AEF Board of Directors including Board Decks, communication updates, social cards, and logistics for 3x per year meetings
  • Search news sites for relevant news and share with the team and/or AEF community
  • Create relevant brand collateral, social media graphics, briefs, and presentations
  • Collaborate with AEF President to roadmap AEF Communications calendar of events/briefing documents for speaking engagement
  • Assist with event execution on site including set up and break down as needed

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus 5-7 years’ prior work experience at an advertising agency, marketer, and/or media company
  • At least 3 years of experience managing an external-facing website and/or social media account on a professional level
  • Technologically savvy, particularly with WordPress, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, MailChimp, and social media
  • Experience managing virtual events using the Zoom platform

  • Focused on delivering accurate and high-quality content
  • Experience in designing social media images using Canva platform and creating compelling captions is a plus
  • Display a willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound, and accurate judgement and to take a solution-oriented approach
  • A collaborative spirit working with both internal and external partners
  • An understanding of the academic ecosystem

Salary and Total Rewards Package
Starting pay range: $95,000 to $105,000 based on relevant experience and qualifications.
