Jobert E. Abueva leads marketing team efforts for the portfolio of ETS brands, including the TOEFL® family of assessments, GRE®, TOEIC® and PRAXIS® tests. He also heads up Higher Education Institutional Search Service Sales. Prior to joining ETS, Abueva was vice president, global sales and marketing at The Oxford Princeton Programme, the leading energy education and training provider. He has also been senior category development manager for the EMEA division of Clairol, Inc. in the UK before becoming marketing director, Asia Pacific, based in Bangkok, Thailand.

A former business correspondent for The New York Times, International Herald Tribune and Newsweek Japan, Abueva has also contributed to Entrepreneur, Fortune and The Philadelphia Business Journal. 

What prompted you to get involved with the AEF and why are you passionate about the future of the industry?

Learned about AEF when I met Gord and Elliot at ANA Masters of Marketing Conference. I continue to have a varied and highly-rewarding Marketing career and I’d like folks to consider it as a viable option.

What is the best career advice you've ever received?

Be open to opportunities that may take you far from home and out of your comfort zone.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Safwan Masri, Operations course at Columbia Business School. He made the subject relevant and had a zest for instruction.
