Cecilia Correa is the vice president of IBM corporate advertising, with over 25 years of experience managing the end-to-end advertising strategy and execution as part of marketing team. Correa is known for her creativity and ability to get things done collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. She’s passionate about branding, design, photography and flowers.

What prompted you to get involved with the AEF and why are you passionate about the future of the industry?

I’ve always been in awe of IBM’s ongoing support for the AEF. Having role models invested in helping educate the next generation of talent has inspired me to do the same. I am passionate about an increasingly diverse marketing and advertising industry that brings together creativity and data in new ways.

What is the best career advice you've ever received?

Don’t assume people know what matters to you and what you are passionate about working on.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

A sociology professor, Ana Cristina Braga, that became a significant mentor in my early career. She opened my perspectives in ways that helped me find my path into a career in marketing.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy the most about my job is that I get to work on creative that is meaningful and brings to life a brand that is making a difference in the world.
