What prompted you to get involved with the AEF and why are you passionate about the future of the industry?

Anne Dooley who was a mentor and boss to me had worked closely with AEF and suggested that I get involved. Since then, the AEF has enabled me to make a real difference in the lives of students by ensuring that their educators had an unvarnished view of Agency life. Along the way, I’ve also met some pretty wonderful professors who helped to expand my perspective and taught me a few things too.

What is the best career advice you've ever received?

Education is the key to future success. People can take many things away from you but with a strong educational foundation you will always find a way forward. I’ve committed myself to life-long learning and education, so even when things don’t go the way I’ve planned I’m able to have the long view.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

Fred Chapman, he had been in the ad business himself. He encouraged that we apply what we were learning “practically.” Fred told us the ad business was tough industry, we had to have a “thick skin” and work on being ”prepared for anything”.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love brand building. Everyday I work with teams from around the world on how to make our brands more distinctive and stand out in this increasingly cluttered media environment. Through attention-getting advertising and innovative activations we’re able to truly connect our brands with consumers.

"Our future marketing and advertising leaders are not just looking for a job, they are looking for a meaningful career that will make a positive impact on society."
