What prompted you to get involved with the AEF and why are you passionate about the future of the industry?

I am impressed with AEF’s efforts to connect our industry to students interested in the field to prepare, inspire and guide a pipeline of future talent. The quality and depth of programming is meaningful, relevant and helps fill critical gaps in our industry, including nurturing diverse talent.

What is the best career advice you've ever received?

“Think and act like an owner” was the best career advice I’ve ever received. Throughout my career, it helped me understand the importance of taking full ownership of every role or task, no matter how big or small, and putting in the effort to make it a success. It also instilled an entrepreneurial spirit to constantly aim to innovate and find new solutions.

Who was your favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor was the late George Ramos, an LA Times reporter, who taught my journalism class at USC. He was fearless storyteller with a powerful voice and wicked sense of humor. Years later, I learned he was a 3 time Pulitzer Prize winner. He made a lasting impression on me.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy so many things about my job, it’s hard to pick one. It’s a privilege to work in such a unique industry where science and art intersect in the form of creative solutions. I enjoy the problem solving especially when you can see the results!

"Our future marketing and advertising leaders are not just looking for a job, they are looking for a meaningful career that will make a positive impact on society."
