What prompted you to get involved with the AEF?

The AEF called seeking our perspective on the key marketing topics of our times, how could we refuse!

Why are you passionate about the future of the industry?

While every impression is an opportunity to build a deeper relationship between people and brands, it’s also an opportunity for brands to shape and bring about the future we all want – one that is more equitable, inclusive and accepting.

What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Rise up, reach back.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Making a difference. Making a difference in how our clients think about the opportunities marketing affords their brands for business success as well as societal gains.

What advice would you give to students as they consider entering the industry?

Don’t let the curriculum stop after college – pursue industry accreditations. Today’s training certifications are a great (often free) way of learning the foundations you’ll need to speed through the first few years as a practitioner in your trade.

"Our future marketing and advertising leaders are not just looking for a job, they are looking for a meaningful career that will make a positive impact on society."
— Gord McLean, President and CEO at ANA Educational Foundation
